Podcast Interview with Danielle
Happy International Podcast Day!!! I am celebrating by sharing my episode of Learn From People Who Lived It!
On Monday, September 5th, 2022; my interview with Mathew Blades and Dr. Frank Bevacqua on the “Learn From People Who Lived It” Podcast was published. (Recent Shows) In this episode, I talk about some of the challenges I’ve been through and how I’ve used Art & creativity to cope with some of those trials.
Here are some key points I was going to talk about with my story.
- Perfectionism and Judgement
- An unhappy marriage and a heartbreaking divorce
- Used creativity to rebuild and pull through a really difficult time
- My creativity led to my career, a freelance designer that specializes in web and print design
- I have a free gift for you… a coloring book: https://dk2design.com/color-my-world/
- Story about the white bedspread and perfectionism
- How you can use the free gift to help you with perfectionism
Regardless of how I grew up, I used creativity to get me through some really difficult events in my life. To help others with issues of perfectionism, you can download our free coloring book in a PDF format at: https://dk2design.com/color-my-world/ and you can do what you want with it. You can go crazy and color outside of the lines, cut it, rip it, turn it into a paper airplane or burn it… I am a big believer in Art Therapy.
In many ways, a lot of healing starts with being honest with yourself and where you are at and what you want. You will keep repeating the same cycles unless you recognize and own your part in those cycles. For me, I had to learn to ask questions and to trust the answers I was getting. It’s not always a booming voices telling you to stop, sometimes it’s your own voice and it’s quiet. You also have to recognize the themes or phrases you tell yourself which aren’t true. My biggest challenge was always “feeling good enough”. Creating a new perspective and overcoming your trials all start from within. Dig deep and find within yourself that which makes your heart sing. For me, art was the answer. I created this coloring book so that you could tap into your own psyche and release some of the stresses that might be overwhelming you. Attracting that healing you need first comes from loving yourself. Love, Trust, Release, Repeat.
